Learning to read waves before they hit you
The players who clear hard tower defence maps aren't reacting faster — they're reacting earlier. They read the incoming wave composition and adjust before the first enemy appears. You can learn this too.
Most games show you the upcoming wave somewhere, even if it's just an icon. Check it. Armored waves want armor-piercing or slow effects; swarms want splash damage; a single boss wants raw single-target punch. Pre-building for the wrong threat is how good mazes still fail.
Keep a small cash reserve between waves instead of spending every coin. That flexibility lets you plant a counter-tower the moment you see trouble coming, rather than scrambling mid-wave.
It takes a few maps to build the habit, but once you're reading ahead, the whole genre gets calmer. You stop panicking and start planning, which is the whole point.
