About

EmberKit started as a group chat where a few of us swapped screenshots of wave 40 and argued about tower placement. At some point the notes got too long for chat, so we moved them here. The site is independent — nobody tells us what to cover or how to score it.

We focus on strategy and tower defence because those genres reward patience and planning, and because they run surprisingly well on modest hardware. Every game we write about has been installed, played across several sessions, and poked at until we understand its systems. If a game bores us by day two, we say so.,We pick titles based on what people are actually playing and what looks interesting to us, not on release calendars or marketing pushes. Sometimes that means an older game that still holds up. Sometimes it's a weird indie tower defence nobody talks about.,Scores are subjective and we're fine with that. A 4.2 from us means we enjoyed it and would come back to it, not that it's objectively better than a 4.1. Read the words, not just the number.
