Ember Hollow is the kind of RPG you settle into rather than blast through. You build a party of four, poke around a gloomy fantasy world, and slowly piece together why the forges went cold. Combat is semi-turn-based — you queue actions and watch them play out, with a timing window that rewards attention.

The gear system is where it hooked me. Crafting isn't just bigger numbers; swapping a weapon changes how a character behaves in a fight, which made me actually experiment. Story beats are doled out patiently, so don't expect fireworks in the first hour.

It runs smoothly and the save system is forgiving, letting you drop in and out without losing progress. A great fit for longer sessions.
